NEWS!

Sharing Bread is on the menu this week. It brings me right back to my childhood, every, single, time.

3.24.23
Back on the menu next week: chouquettes! They’re light, fluffy and sweet, and they look adorable too.

3.18.23
My personal favorite: the whole wheat sourdough. It packs a punch, it’s good for your gut, and it smells fantastic.

3.12.23
They’re here! Matcha Shortbread Cookies, dipped in dark chocolate. Smooth and sweet, with a lovely touch of saltiness. Tiny, and very addictive.

3.7.23
Chocolate bites are back on the menu! They’re gluten free and intensely chocolatey. In other words, very addictive.

3.5.23
Adventure Bread! Named after how randomly I mixed seeds and grains and hoped for the best when I first made it. The full story is that when I first started baking, an acquaintance asked if I could replicate a bread from Whole Foods. Naively, I said yes, and naturally, all of my attempts failed. That’s when my husband reminded me that the whole point of Pain Moche was that I was NOT baking supermarket bread. And for once, he was right. After all that, I think this is one of my most complex and accomplished loaves.

3.3.23
Starting my weekend off right with some last-minute pains au chocolat and a home-made cappuccino. Sitting outside under palm trees is a pretty nice bonus, too.

2.22.23
Seeded Multigrain Sourdoughs are back on the menu! Get them while they last.

2.16.23
Here we go! Pain Moche, West Coast Edition, is ready to launch! I hope our new community welcomes me, my bread, and my family, with the same warmth and enthusiasm as our Happy Valley folks. And the only way to find out is to give it a shot!
6.17.22
And that’s a wrap!
Eternally grateful for my Pain Moche community, its support, its impeccable palate, and its generosity: this endeavor would not have been possible with you! I hope I have instilled in you a renewed appreciation for artisanal bread, and perhaps also inspired some of you to give bread-baking a try!
Thank you all so very, very much. Now time for a nap.

We did it again! THANK YOU to all those who contributed to the February fundraising effort for Wildwood Elementary. Your support allowed me to deliver 350+ Valentine’s Day treats to the Wildwood teachers and staff, all of whom have been going above and beyond throughout the pandemic. It was heartwarming to see the community work together to provide some relief for them.

2.12.22
Time for a break! There will be no baking February 14th-25th!
1.23.22
It’s that time again, time to send our teachers some love. If you would like to contribute a baked good donation to the Wildwood Elementary teachers and staff in February, just send a note to painmochebakery@gmail.com. Any amount is greatly appreciated!

Remember to pre-order your Galette des Rois by January 4th, so you can have it ready to devour on January 6th!
12.19.21
A friendly reminder that there will be no bread December 24-January 3rd! I will be spending that time testing new recipes, playing around with various types of flour, and generally making a mess of our kitchen. Get your taste buds ready for 2022!
12.1.21
A very big THANK YOU! to all those who made a baked good donation to the Wildwood Elementary community. Thanks to your generosity, I was able to bake and deliver 300+ cookies to the school’s teachers and staff, all of whom were extremely grateful for the mid-week surprise.
I cannot wait to do this again.
